Leads: every enquiry in one place, and who bought — MelonAds

How to connect a Facebook lead form or a landing page to MelonAds, see every lead in one list, update its status and mark who bought.

What you need first

An active monthly plan. Lead management comes with every plan; buying a credit pack does not unlock it.

At least one client on the Clients screen. Every lead belongs to a business, so you always know whose it is.

For a Facebook form: a connected Meta account (from "Paid advertising") and a business Page you manage.

1. Open the Leads screen

Click "Leads" in the menu. This is where leads from all your clients arrive, newest first.

Without an active plan you'll see a locked screen with the number of leads already waiting. They aren't lost: your forms keep collecting, and the leads appear as soon as a plan is active.

2. Connect a lead source

The first time, the screen walks you through it: choose "Which client is this for?", then in "Lead sources & connection" pick "Landing page" or "Facebook form". Once you have one source, add more with the "New connection" button at the top.

For a landing page built in another tool (Elementor, Wix, WordPress, Zapier or Make): name the source, for example "Landing page form, summer campaign", and click "Create source". You get one URL. Copy it right away and paste it into the tool's Webhook URL field. It is shown only once.

Landing pages you built inside MelonAds skip this step. Leads from their forms arrive here on their own.

3. A Facebook lead form

Choose "Facebook form" and your business Page. Build a "New form" (questions, intro screen, thank-you screen) or pick an "Existing form" already on the Page. Click "Connect form", and from then on every lead from that form enters the list.

Meta doesn't let you edit a form after it's created, so check the wording before you connect. If the Page hasn't accepted Meta's lead ads terms yet, the screen tells you, and a Page admin has to accept them on Meta's side.

4. Send a test lead

Next to the source, click "Field mapping & test", then "Send a test lead". It travels the same way a real lead does and shows up in the list tagged "Test". Once you see it arrived, remove it with the "Delete" button beside it.

In the same place you see the fields the form sent. Give each one a clear label and choose whether it is the lead's name, phone or email, then click "Save mapping". Any extra field on the form, such as "What's your budget?", shows up automatically under "More details" on the lead's row.

5. Work the list

Each lead gets a row: client, name, phone, email, source (landing page or Meta lead form), when it came in, and status. The arrow at the start of the row opens "More details" with the rest of the form's answers. On a phone, each lead is a card.

At the top you can filter by "All clients" and "All statuses", and sort by time received or status, ascending or descending. Clicking the client's name on a row opens only that client's leads.

Change the status from the dropdown on the row: "New", "In progress", "Converted" or "Lost". Update it after every call, and filtering by "New" will always show who you haven't got back to yet.

6. Mark who bought

The simple way: when a lead closes, set its status to "Converted".

The automatic way: the source's "Connection instructions" include "Report a sale", with its own URL. Your payment system or website sends it the amount plus the buyer's phone or email. The matching lead is marked "Converted" and the amount appears in a "Sale amount" column. A sale sent twice counts once.

Genie sees how many leads came in over the last 30 days and how many bought, so you can ask what a campaign actually brought in.

7. Manage your sources

The "My tokens" button at the top lists every lead source across all clients. From there you can disable a source, turn it back on, open its connection instructions, rotate its key or delete it.

Lost the URL? Choose "Rotate key". You get a new URL and the old one stops working at once, so paste the new one into the form. Leads already received stay exactly as they are.

Tips

Give every source a name that says where it comes from, such as the campaign or page name. With several forms, that is what tells you which one works.

After every new connection, send a test lead before you switch on ads. Better to find a problem before you pay for clicks.

Check the "New" filter once a day. A lead you call back quickly is worth far more than one left waiting two days.

If you have a payment system, connect the sale report. Then you know how much money each campaign brought in, not just how many leads.

Common mistakes

Closing the URL window without copying it. The full URL is shown once. If it happens, rotate the key under "My tokens" and paste the new URL into the form.

Deleting a source to stop leads. If leads already came through it, the delete is blocked. To stop new leads without losing the old ones, disable the source instead.

Connecting a Facebook form before checking its wording. Meta won't let you edit a form once it exists, so a change means a new form and reconnecting the ad.

Leaving leads on "New" after you've spoken to them. Then the filter stops showing who is really waiting for you.

Do I need a plan to get leads?

To see and manage them, yes. Every monthly plan includes it. If your plan stops, the forms you connected keep collecting, and the leads wait for you until the plan is back.

Which sources can send leads?

Facebook and Instagram lead forms through Meta, landing pages you built in MelonAds, and any tool that can send a webhook: Elementor, Wix, WordPress, Zapier, Make, or your own code.

I work with several businesses. Do the leads get mixed up?

No. Every source belongs to one client, and every lead carries that client's name. Filter by client, or open one client's leads on their own.

Can I delete a lead?

Only a test lead. A real lead stays in the list; mark it "Lost" if it isn't relevant.

A Facebook lead didn't arrive. What do I check?

In "Field mapping & test", click "Check connection". It shows whether the Page is subscribed to receive leads and whether a permission is missing, with a button to subscribe the Page again. If the connected account no longer manages the Page, the source is marked as paused with an explanation of what to do.
