My campaigns: read the numbers, let Genie keep watch — MelonAds

A guide to My campaigns in MelonAds: Meta performance in plain words, cost-per-lead targets, Genie recommendations you approve, and your Page's lead forms.

What you need first

A connected Meta account. If you haven't connected one yet, start with the guide to publishing a campaign.

For Genie's campaign manager: a campaign you published through MelonAds.

1. See all your campaigns in one place

In the menu, click "My campaigns". At the top there are three tabs: "Performance", "Campaign manager" and "Lead forms".

In "Performance", choose a period (for example the last 7 days) and one campaign or "All campaigns". Tick "Compare to previous period" to see whether things got better or worse.

The "Your campaigns" list shows every campaign in the account, including ones not created here. Each has a switch to turn it on or off. Before switching one on you'll be asked to confirm, since from that moment it spends its daily budget.

2. What the numbers mean

Spend: how much Meta spent in the period. Results (conversions): how many times the thing the campaign is after happened, such as a lead. Cost per result: spend divided by results, in other words what each lead cost.

Impressions: how many times the ad was shown. Reach: how many different people saw it. Frequency: how many times, on average, each person saw it. Clicks and CTR: how many clicked, and what share of impressions that is.

A number marked "Still updating" can still go up. Meta keeps counting conversions for up to a week after the click, so don't judge a campaign by the last two days. Use "Configure metrics" to pick which cards show, and "Compare campaigns" to see them all in one table.

3. Give Genie your targets

The "Campaign manager" tab lists the campaigns you published through MelonAds. Pick one and click "Genie settings". Right after publishing a campaign you can reach the same window from "Set up campaign manager".

Fill in how much you want to pay per lead and the most you'll pay. As long as a lead costs between those two numbers, Genie leaves the campaign alone. You can also add cost per customer and ROI.

Choose what Genie does when a target is missed: "Recommend only", where you approve every action, or "Act and report", where she acts on her own within your limits and tells you. The "What Genie will do" box spells out in plain sentences exactly what will happen, based on your choices.

4. Approve or dismiss recommendations

Genie checks the campaign every hour. Recommendations and actions appear under "What Genie did and recommends". On a recommendation, click "Do it" or "Dismiss". An action that was carried out can be reversed with "Undo".

There are fixed limits: no more than one budget change every 3 days, no touching an ad that has run for less than 3 days, and never pausing the last active ad. Genie never switches off a whole campaign.

You can also tell Genie in the chat to "pause the campaign" or "raise the budget". She prepares a card, and nothing changes in Meta until you click "Confirm". A budget raise is capped each time at 20% of the daily budget, or one average cost per lead, whichever is higher.

5. Your Page's lead forms

In the "Lead forms" tab, choose a Facebook Page and see all its forms, including ones made in Ads Manager: how many questions each has, how many leads it brought, and whether it's active.

Need the same form on another Page? "Copy to another Page" makes an identical copy on the Pages you choose. The original form and its leads stay as they are. Copying is for subscribers only.

Tips

To see cost per customer and ROI, mark in the Leads screen who bought and for how much. Without that, Genie sees leads but can't tell which became customers.

Start with "Recommend only". After a week or two of recommendations that make sense to you, you can switch to "Act and report".

Set a maximum price per lead, not just a target. That gives Genie a range where she stays hands-off, so you don't get a recommendation for every small move.

Pick an email report frequency. Hourly or daily sends an email only when something significant changes. Weekly and monthly always send a summary.

Common mistakes

Switching a campaign off after a day or two because leads look expensive. The latest days are still updating, and Meta needs time to learn. Give it at least a week.

Looking in the campaign manager for a campaign made directly in Meta's Ads Manager. Genie manages only campaigns published through MelonAds. You'll find the rest in the "Performance" tab.

Disconnecting your Meta account. Genie pauses her management when the connection is cut or expires, and picks up again on her own once you reconnect.

Can Genie change my campaign without asking?

Only if you chose "Act and report", and only within your limits: pausing an expensive ad or changing the budget by the step you picked. She reports every action, and you can undo it. With "Recommend only" and in the chat, nothing happens without your approval.

Why are customers and revenue empty in the campaign manager?

They're calculated from sales marked in the leads system. Connect the campaign's lead form in the Leads screen, and mark who bought and for how much.

What's the difference between "Performance" and "Campaign manager"?

"Performance" shows every campaign in the ad account, by date. "Campaign manager" shows only campaigns you published through us, against the targets you set, and that's where Genie works.

Does "Analyze with AI" cost anything?

The analysis costs credits. Viewing performance, Genie's settings and her recommendations in the campaign manager cost no credits.
